A small atelier

Atelium is a parent company for a small portfolio of software. Two products live under it today: Workbench and Documate. The name comes from atelier, a craftsperson's studio. A place of skilled making, not a factory floor.

That word is the whole thesis. We build a few tools with care, for people who do real work, and we sweat the details most software skips.

What we believe

Good tools disappear into the work. They are fast, quiet, and obvious. They respect the person using them and the data they carry. They don't nag, they don't upsell, and they don't bury a simple task under five screens of chrome.

Most enterprise software fails that test. It is built to demo well and sold by the seat, not built to be lived in eight hours a day. We are betting there is room for the opposite: software made the way a good tool is made.

How we work

Two people, one bench. We ship deliberately and we own what we ship. There is no growth team, no roadmap theater, no feature built to fill a slide. When something is not good enough, it does not go out.

The products are below. The journal is where we think out loud.
